The trial is genuinely free for 30 days with no credit card required. After that the trial ends and you'll need to choose a plan to keep using B2 Notes — perpetual license, subscription, or Subscribe-to-Own. Your data is preserved for 90 days after the trial ends so you can export it or pick a plan.
Yes. Subscribers can cancel anytime and start fresh on a different plan. Subscribe-to-Own customers can pay off their remaining months early to convert immediately, or cancel and forfeit their progress (or convert it to a partial credit if 6+ payments have been made — contact support).
Your account automatically converts to a perpetual license at the corresponding tier (Standard or Pro). You stop being charged. The app is now yours forever, with the same rights as anyone who bought a perpetual license outright.
You enter a 30-day grace period during which we retry the payment and contact you. If payment isn't resolved, the subscription is paused. You have up to 12 months to resume the path without losing your progress.
Yes, anytime. You retain access through the end of your billing period. After that, your data is preserved for 90 days during which you can export it, restart your subscription, or move to a different plan.
You receive a notification at 80%, 90%, and 100%. At 100%, new uploads pause until you free space, upgrade your subscription tier, or add a storage subscription. Existing data stays accessible — we never lock you out of your own notes.
Perpetual licenses are refundable for any reason within 30 days of purchase. New first-time subscribers get a money-back guarantee on their first month if dissatisfied (request within 7 days). Subscribe-to-Own and storage subscriptions are not refundable but can be cancelled at any time.
No. Auto-renewal on subscriptions and storage add-ons is opt-in, off by default. We send a reminder 14 days before any annual renewal and 3 days before any monthly renewal. Perpetual licenses never renew — you bought it, you own it.
Launch pricing is genuinely temporary. Regular pricing kicks in after the first 1,000 customers per perpetual tier (or six months, whichever comes first). After that, prices may adjust over time, but anyone who already owns a perpetual license keeps it at the price they paid, with no forced upgrades. Subscription prices may change with at least 30 days' notice; you can cancel before any price change takes effect.
Your data export is built into the application from day one. You can download every note, every file, every attachment in standard formats (Markdown, JSON, original media files) at any time. We've also committed to releasing the export tool as open source so you'll always have a way out — even if we're not around to maintain it.
Yes. The application works offline and syncs when you're back online. Your notes are local-first; the cloud is for backup and multi-device access, not the source of truth.
